Untitled (Lairig Ghru)

Oil pastel and oil paint on mixed materials, 46x60cm. 

This painting evolved from sketches made whilst on residency in the Cairngorms in April 2021. Approaching the edge of the plateau to Ben MacDui, you see the depth and converging lines of the Lairig Ghru pass. I was taken by the angles of the slopes and colourings of the landscape half coloured in snow.

This painting will be exhibited at the Lemond Gallery in May 2021.
